Religious communities and the divine have NO claim to be the origin, the arbiter or the be all and end all of moral codes - such codes of behaviour predate most organised religions. What the churches have done, as usual, is to lay claim to and codify them to their own purposes and then profess to have created them. I shall leave it there as I have no wish to disrespect anyone's religion but my own take on churches and organised religion is a little jaundiced to say the least. Basically, whatever you believe is good if it's good for you... until you try to control and subjugate others to the 'will of your gods'. That doesn't mean I don't have beliefs of my own - I just don't need men intervening between me and my gods thank you and writing rules which derrogate themselves power and wealth.
