i was wondering if anyone here is familiar with slave schools? i have heard several people mention to me having been trained in one of several slave schools that are located across the country, but that is all of the information i got. i am more curious than anything about these houses. Are they underground so that the vanilla world does not know about them? Are they legal? Is there a price for admittance or some kind of test one must take to gain admittance? i find the entire concept very interesting. Has anyone here heard of these or has anyone here been trained in a slave school? |

I've never heard of a "school", though that doesn't mean they don't exist. I haven't heard of a lot of things.
I have heard of various classes and retreats, things like that though. Is that what the people are talking about?
I'm not sure what I think about the notion of slave school. One of the things that Master said He had to do with me is UN-train me before He could train me the way He wanted me. I don't know what the advantage to being trained by a generic slave teacher would be when what matters (in my opinion) is being trained to an Owner's specifications.
I have the same thought when I hear someone talking about having a training collar or a training master, too. Certainly what I had learned under the guidance of a previous Dom did NOT come into play with Master. No two people are alike.
I don't know what would be taught there that would be useful? Maybe I'm thinking of it in the wrong terms too though. His_kaya

i have heard of only two of them.
The first i found through a link on, i believe it was the IE site. It sounded a bit odd to me...that one is in NYC if i'm not mistaken.
The other one i heard about was further south, maybe Va. area or something. From what i recall about that one is the guy running it basically wants the girls to go on cam to make him money and he takes his liberties with you.
This all sounds a little bit off to me personally.
i do know that there are workshops etc in some local BDSM communities, but not necessarily schools perse.
Although the idea of them sounds really hot, especially to me before i was owned..the reality sounds a bit dicey to me. besides, whatever you learn from one school of "thought" may be totally different than what your Master would like, need or envision for you. |

The person i heard talking went to one in NYC. i believe it was in a big house, for they were training several slaves there at once. In this particular one, there was an admission test of some sort. The training included protocols, manners, how to serve, obey, overcome jealousy, etc. The things taught were general in nature so that when you are owned your Master could expand upon what you had learned. It was basically laying the groundwork. There are apparantly very harsh disciplines there, and at the end of a slaves time in the school, she is looked over by several Masters and is hopefully chosen. There was also apparantly training for Masters as well, and that training starts with being trained as a slave....so that the Master can see and feel what it is like to be one. Interesting... |

Master Taino runs a Training Academy that operates various retreats aimed at different groups.
APEX runs an
Academy
that is a continuation of Butchmanns SM Academy.
Catherine Gross runs standalone classes but also a weekend
Servants' Retreat.
All of these are weekend events for about a dozen people. Individuals may well enter into training arrangements, but they're a type of relationship rather than a Training School in my opinion.

Hm...training for masters sounds like a good idea. Because in my opinion training the slave is an experience I wouldn't want to miss just to save some time. And wouldn't that be an excellent time for bonding with the slave?
I would not, however, wish to be trained as a slave just to see what it was like. It might very well help me to understand my slave, but I've never had any submissive nature in me. To be honest the first time a switch was brought near me I'd probably end up snatching it out of their hands and trying to brain them with it. (<--exaggeration) And I worry that being trained as a slave might damage the master mindset I'll want. Knowledge is Power

The Estate is a bit of an unusual case. It's been around since 1998ish, and early on they set out an ambitious programme of developing training systems for slaves, and expected to have slaves trained for third-parties out there in the scene helping to promote the whole idea by the qualities they displayed.
You can still get a flavour of this programme by reading
http://www.the-estate.com/faq/ on the current Estate website,
and this transcript of an IRC discussion from 1998:
http://web.archive.org/web/19981203091439/http:/...
(via www.archive.org)
However, as far as I'm aware, no one has graduated from the Estate. In fact, the whole thing has always been a virtual
entity, without shared premises (one of them was living with his parents at one point I believe.)
What they do really do though is give talks at meetings and conferences and have D/s relationships, but that's not quite the same as the Marketplace-style training house they set out to create, nor the regular weekend retreats that have already been mentioned on this thread.
Regards, Tanos
M/s and in the UK? The Master-slave-uk mailing list has restarted.
There will be a TSR Meeting in London, Sat 9th June.
