I kinda need ya help, if you'd be so good people I've been looking on these hallowed boards for some time now, and the 'stupid' search function is, well, defunct, but I'm almost certain that there are, somewhere in history, threads about 'slaves/subs sleeping in collars'. My reason for asking is because having spent frickin' hours looking, I can't find 'anything', and I'm trying to impress upon My Girl that she 'will' get used to sleeping in a rigid collar - *thinks either Eternity or Turian*; so, any links to threads you may have in your archives on the subject would be really sincerely appreciated. You see, when the time is right, her pretty little neck will look lovely with a nice collar round it, but not wishing to sound like I'm backing away from My role as her Master (because I sure as hell am NOT!), and she 'will' wear one, but I feel, right now, before she does wear one, she could use some reassurances that it's not going to be quite the 'pain in the neck' she thinks it might be. My initial experience with a rigid circular collar was that it took about 3 months to get used to it. The first week was pretty awful. The subsequent weeks were on and off bad. By the third month it felt like sleeping with my security blanket. I found comfort in the fact that it was there. The collar I currently wear was even easier. Because it's made of silver it molds to my neck. Even though it is tighter than the other collar, it took less than a week to adjust to it. Carolyn "Each moment opens like a flower. However, it took a little while for me to break in my leather play collar, and I've slept in that a few times. It is VERY comforting, and I barely noticed it. I did notice the metallic "clink" of the ring a few times in my sleep, but it wasn't enough to bother me. Unfortunately, I'm apparently allergic to the metal hardware -- it caused my neck to break out in a very uncomfortable rash, so I can't wear it to bed or for long periods of time any more. I don't think I ever noticed it after the first night. Except for that clink. It did take me about a week to get used to sleeping in a wide leather collar I was required to wear at night for a while. It wasn't that bad though, and now sometimes I miss it. I feel like I'm being choked when I sleep in it and I often wake up in the middle of the night trying to adjust it and end up taking it off since Master and I do not live together yet. Seriously, one has never has any problems with it, apart from that clink Krista mentioned. That and one can no longer sneak out of bed in search of coffee. Those baby blues open and the voice drawls "Where do you think you are going?" Where upon one is left with "Coffee, please, need coffee." See round here, one always starts the day with whimpering or begging. Master's piece 1 Mar 08, 10:19 PM anjuli UK, 18 mths I too have an steel eternity collar which I am now wearing 24/7 again, having had a period off because I had a major op (for which it had to be removed of course) and a period of recuperation during which Master decided I would be more comfortable without. Well, now it's back on. So... I am going thro the adjustment period... all over again. Arrrgh!!! I love it but it's tough going at times, and nightime can be awkward but as Carolyn said, it's off and on. After a night or two of fretting, I settled again and now just have the odd moment of irritation with it. If you lie and think about it, you will be aware of its rigidity. (You have to bear in mind that when you lie on a pillow, it is pushed out of normal alignment and you tend to become aware of it touching, for instance, your throat, as it would not when you are upright. I also get this nasty thing when Master pulls me to him sometimes and the collar gets trapped between my collar bones as he squeezes my shoulders upwards and inwards if that makes sense? Now that is a real ouch for a moment! So, the drawbacks are that for a while you are very aware that it does not give in any way as your neck flexes and changes in position in bed. At all other times I find it totally comfortable and trouble free. It's easy to keep clean, doesn't suffer from baths, showers, swimming, sauna, etc. I can work out it in without any issues. In fact I haven't found anything I can't do. The inch bigger (as photoed) is good if you live in a hot place or exercise, as it makes allowances for swelling.
