Eternity Cuff Issue (4)
Moved from Service
Wed 26 Mar 08, 4:04 AM 887-458-885 US, 20 mths |
I have been cuffed with a "raw" style eternity cuff since December. Recently, within the past week or so, I have been noticing that my cuff has a bit more room to move around- I was dealing with some water retention issues that just cleared up.
This freedom of movement has been causing some mild irritation along the left hand side of my wrist (it's on the left hand) and today it turned into a sore while I was taking a walk outside.
After my walk I went to work and went shopping, and the sore seems to have scabbed over for the time being.
Does this happen to anyone, and if so, is this common with all eternity cuffs, or just the "raw" line?
Are there any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening again?
What do you suggest that I should to in the mean time? My master has given me permission to remove it if necessary, but I dread having to remove it, and I would like to keep it on for the time being if I can.
Also, would this occurrence be less likely if it was a different style of cuff? |

Can you give a link to what you're talking about? That way we know if it's leather or metal that's rubbing you raw.
Actually, in either case, if you can simply tighten the cuff, that would work.

Solid stainless steel 3/8" inch thickness - lovely to wear - I had the anklet just like it in My sub-side days. Non-adjustable though.
Maybe the OP should have a different sized one too? Like size down for non-retention times, and the one they're wearing for fluid-filled times? It sounds to Me like the cuff just has too much ability to slip now and is rubbing. I suppose you could wear a wristband but that will detract from the beauty of the cuff Methinks.

I would have done that, but i'm currently wearing the extra small. My wrist was fitting the 6 inch cuff snugly before, but now my wrist is smaller (can't find my measuring tape) but it now has the freedom to slide about 4 inches of my wrist/arm.
I've put some liquid bandage on it for the moment, but it's still painful. |

Then it looks like all you can do for now, at least, is protect the wound while it heals with an appropriate dressing, and then ultimately find a suitable and gainly mode of taking up the slack in between the cuff and your wrist. The thing that immediately springs to mind would be some of that elasticated flesh-coloured tubi-grip bandage that they use in hospitals for sprains and such, but you may find that uncomfortable in the mid-term; else maybe a sweatband so the cuff fits snug over it; if I come up with anything else I'll let you know.
In any case, where there's a will, there's a way...
