Collar and Travel (24)

I am just interested to know what everyone does during travel... say on an airplane... these days with the security the way it is. I know the last time I went through security I was not required to take off any jewelry, but the time before that I was required to take off all my jewelry, belt, etc. (I still had my piercings and I could not take out all of those so I still got the "wand").

Do you leave on the collar or take it off? If you leave it on, do you find that it delays things at all? I am just interested because I believe we're going to be doing some traveling in the short future and I know that all the other methods of transportation are probably a moot point (cruises, cars, buses, etc.), but with all the TSA stuff, I didn't know...

I'd hate to have to take my collar off at all, but if it means having a full-cavity search, well the only one I want doing that is my Master. LOL.

Well, you could have your Master take it off for you, you could also ask your Master about another form of idenification of slavery other then the collar for when you might have to take it off, so that, no matter what you are still wearing something that your Master designates as a symbol of ownership. Those are just my ideas. There are other forms of idenification of ownership besides the collar, that just happands to be the most popular one.

My "collar" (to my personal calling) is a silver necklace. I pull it out from under my shirt so it shows...and it's never set off the system. My girl does the same thing with her collar (which is a gold chain with a silver pendent).

I know others who have eternity collars and bracelets who take them off to fly.

I have traveled from England to New York twice and on my way home i was wearing my new collar, i didn't have the key that time and i set off the alarm. i had to stand to one side till they found another member of staff. They used the wand on me and they wanted me to remove the collar but i explained that i couldn't. The security lady was quite annoyed at this and said i should always carry the key. I am now able to remove my collar easily and always do when going through security as it didn't seem worth the hassle. I keep my collar on the rest of the time and my Master has accepted that it is easier to remove the collar and put it back on once i am through security.

One of my public collars is a very light weight braided leather choker I got at a Renaissance festival. Guaranteed not to set off any alarms. While a little unusual for say, professional wear, it doesn't look Goth/BDSM/kinky at all.

Added bonus: it fulfills my Master's desire to seem me in a leather collar as much as possible. And they come in colors to coordinate with your outfit ;)

Thank you for your replies. My collar is an Eternity collar and Master and I were thinking it might be best just to take it off for security. How about in a carry on going through the machines... is it gonna be okay in there do you think?

Those of you that take them off... do you put them in your carry on or put them in your checked before you even get to security? The reason I am asking... 1. I don't want to be without it very long 2. I really don't hardly ever check baggage.

I appreciate everyone's ideas and replies!! Thank you!

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be okay in a carry-on. Unless someone decides you're going to hijack a plane with a metal ring you should be fine.

then again, with women being forced to remove nipple rings at security, who knows?

Reading this story has upset me greatly. I am normally not in favor of suing anyone but in this case those security wanna be cops should loose their jobs besides giving a public apology. There was a thread a while back about collars and airport security. I had written then that on our last trip we had some hassles at O'Hare airport in Chicago also but nothing like this. My wife wears one of her magnetic closing collars when we fly and removes it while removing her shoes and places it in the tray along with all the other things she might be concealing a bomb. But on our last trip the alarm went off anyway. She had to go to a glass enclosed area to be wanded. The security guard passed the wand in front of her and it went off numerous times. Each time the guard stopped at her crotch and asked what have you got down there? By now there were a lot of folks in line watching. My wife told her to slow down and that it was her underwire bra that was triggering the alarm and that the guard is overshooting the area. The guard went so far as to start sticking the wand up between my wife's legs when another guard came over to see what all the commotion was about. About that time my wife who is very submissive and would normally not say anything had had enough and decided to take of her sweater to show her bra. That is when they finally let her pass. I had gone thru the same detector without sounding the alarm she had tried to pass thru and had forgetting to take of some jewelry and my belt buckle. Go figure. On the way home there were random people pulled out of the line at the boarding door. We had our single carry on searched along with every 3 or so person in line. This was after passing the main security check point. Anyway I'm still upset at what I see and read is happening in the name of security and if you say anything you wind up on the floor with a shiny boot on your neck or miss your flight. I'm an old guy and I remember when traveling was a treat. I suggest you try to reduce your chance of trouble and just take it off while in line, then put it back on with your shoes etc.

Here's what we did and why:

On my recent trip to Europe, I was traveling as part of a group and was informed by another poster who said she had to have searches due to her collar. Now the thing is that while I am generally easy going, I didn't want to be responsible for holding the group up, so the week before I left William came up north and exchanged my locking collar for the necklace I originally wore. He came up the week following the trip and put the locking one back on me.

I'll be honest and say that these latest reports, along with what Vad Farcus has related, have made me nervous about air flight. I hope that, at least in the US, they start better rail service. Otherwise, I think I'd rather just drive anymore.
