Branding of slaves (72)

Brands do hold a special meaning and are generally at the discreation of the owner. Brands need to be done safely. It goes beyond just simply burning an initial or something into someones skin. There are now professional parlors where they do branding, usually tattoo parlors do it. If he does it he should be prepared well in advance on how to do it safely. As for scarring, that is part of the idea. It is meant to be a permanent mark. |

The technology that's currently available for removing tattoos does remove the tattoo ink, true. But it leaves a scar in the shape of the former tattoo and from what I've seen the scars are fairly conspicuous. So tattoos should never by any means be entered into with the mindset that they're removable.
Brands can be breathtakingly gorgeous. The difference is in who does it and their expertise. Skincuttings and skin removal scarification are also options. BMEzine.com is a really good resource to start investigating all of these things.
Krista No feminist thinks men and women are exactly the same. But what we reject is the notion that the difference between men and women is that men are human and women are objects.

I think a brand is better in some ways as its really affects the slaves mind, but for some slaves it is a dream come true but some subs may wish a tat , i guess it depends on first, this is not a temp thing so is the Mistress/Master /slave/sub relationship going to last ? and second is the person a slave or sub ? as a slave is property there is a saying "The brand is used primarily, oddly enough, because of its reputed psychological effect. In theory, if not in practice, when the slave branded like an animal, finds fair skin marked by the iron of a master, she cannot fail, somehow, in the deepest levels of thought, to regard self as something which is owned, as mere property, as something belonging to the brute who has put the burning iron to thigh. Most simply the brand is supposed to convince the slave is truly owned; it is supposed to make feel owned. When the iron is pulled away and the slave pain and degradation and smells the odor of burnt flesh, is supposed to tell them uderstanding its full and terrible import, I AM HER'S "
yes I have changed this quote to make it for male and female slaves

I have just been branded by my Mistress.
We had talked about this for some considerable time. Considering whether to have this done by a tatoo artist whether to use a cautery pen or what ?.
I said I would rather it be done by my Mistress. we read that cautery pens would not burn deep enough and would need to be re-done at regular intervals. My Mistress decided to try using a Violet Wand and soon found that with the right fitment and by going over the area several times it produced a very acceptable image, maybe it will need to be re-done but at the moment I am very proud to be carrying my Mistresses initial.
Now its been done and hopefully a picture will appear on my page, this is just waiting approval.

Hello all
Have I heard something about the pain issue being less than you might expect because when a brand is done properly it produces a third degree burn which cauterises the site... so no more nerve signals?
That's not to say it's not painful but it's not a continual pain like a light skin burn or scald you might get in the kitchen which are oddly worse because they are only on the surface layer of the skin.
No experience here and it could be a shedload of rubbish but I know I read it somewhere.
I for one can understand the desire and once fantasised about being branded but the reality would scare the crap out of me. Funny how that happens when it becomes a real possibility eh?

Hi anjuli.
Pain during the branding process ? If done with a hot iron or blow torch, yes I would imagine it could be very painful. But isnt this part of the process of submitting to branding ?
I have also heard that the deeper burns hurt less at the time for the very reasons you have stated, but then during the healing process you would undoubtably eperience more pain. Maybe one day I will find out.
In the meantime I am very happy with the brand I received from my Mistress using a Violet Wand. Yes I am convinced it will need re-doing at regular intervals but it will eventually leave the scar and permanent mark.

NO NO NO NO NO! Having your Mistress do it is an extremely bad idea! Just like tattoos and piercings, brands should only be done by those who are specially trained and licensed. There are LAWS against this in most states. I mean really, it's a third degree burn, and do you guys have an autoclave laying around somewhere to clean the iron or a high power blowtorch to heat it? Some one who experiences pain for more than a moment probably didn't have the iron hot enough to cause a complete third degree burn, or have the iron flat against their skin. This leads to incomplete or uneven scarring as the wound (because that's what it is) healing. We don't have thick skin like cows and horses, so we brand differently. Animals that are traditionally branded can still grow hair on their brands (they use only a first or second degree burn, which damages the hair follicle and causes discoloration). This is impossible in humans since we are mostly hairless and how delticate(-er) skin. Edited 7 May 08, 6:47 PM by 111-511-935

Dabir doesn't like brands. I did receive one prior to meeting him however, and I have to admit probably one of the most erotic experiences of my life! I have a tattoo now, and strangely enough, although receiving it wasn't as erotic, it does mean more. Maybe because I always said I would NEVER have a tattoo, and that it is unique to Dabir.
But still, that brand, wow, what an experience!

Why would one want to sterilize a red hot iron?

In the Gor books, the brand is always a generalized symbol of slavery (not a reference to one specific master), and it's the collar (not the brand) which is a personalized and customized reference to ownership by an individual owner -- which in this particular case, might possibly be good advice for real life. See my post in this old thread...
