Hi, Just curious but why would you want to post something just to "get a rise" out of someone? ...and as far as the barcodes go - they are allocated to each individual who registers (just as the registration number is allocated.) They are, indeed, individual and scannable (i.e. with the right equipment you can scan the barcode and get the allocated person's profile page to display on your computer.) As to whether they are a serious thing or not, they can be taken as seriously or as light heartedly as anyone wants to. Obviously some people take them seriously enough to have them tattooed onto their bodies, just as some people take their registration numbers seriously enough to have them permanently marked onto them too. My boy has his number on his back for example. Its personal to us and we like it. It may seem silly to you but no-one is asking you to get one! It can be personal because on the registration paper it has the Master's name as owning the property with that bar code. It's not personalised to a master, it is the slave's number and goes with them to anyone who owns them. It is permanent in its state in that it stays with the slave. Some wear theirs proudly, others don't, surely that's up to the relevant decision maker? I gave up my access to my barcode etc by enabling Rog to change the access password, so it is his to access, not mine. Edited to add, damn, we all seem to have answered at the same time! Master Mike's precious i agree, and this was the discussion that Master and i had last weekend before my barcode was tattooed on my back. Master is listed as my owner on my registration, but that can change as he sees fit, it doesn't change the fact that i am a slave. The barcode is mine, the number is mine and it serves as a reminder of who i am in all circumstances and situations as i travel through this life. Next page
