...it is called "Trolling" as in patrolling for somebody to fuck with...it is a way the uncouth and crass amuse themselves...there is a saying we like to say on the interwebs "Do not feed the trolls!" True in all senses; not only does it give them power, but they are like that damn mouse i gave a cookie to...they always come back > <

Actually... trolling is a fishing term. It generally means to drop a line with bait, and then troll along in the boat slowly to entice a bite. They even have special boat motors that are very small called trolling motors specifically for this task.
Very similar to posting a contraversial topic just to fish for heated replies.

yes i surpose you are right on that point..i just wanted to start a debate..tiz a trick learned in public speaking to get attention to the subject ( not the person! i am not lacking in attention and have never trolled).i was not being judgemental of others..this is a a very small world we inhabit.. and i'm sorry if i offended anyone...yes a bit tounge in cheek at time..that is me..i'm a cheeky little madam sometimes..but isn't there a place for me too?..we are all different shapes and sizes and mind frames..diverse! judge least you be judged works both ways. i infact one day would love a tattoo or brand with a master's mark. be well all..tempted not to post again when people react like this. (i'm a little softy really)

can understand branding or tatoos with a master's mark..but barcodes?
|
If your Master wants to you wear his mark I don't see why it matters what format that mark takes.
I like the depersonalisation of barcodes. |

I agree.
It Is what your Master wants that will be.
I personally don't care for barcodes though.
I require something more personal.
Something that I designed, that clearly states she is My property without having to look up a barcode number. DarkSado

I think it was silly of you to stir up trouble for no reason. You need a spanking in my book.
I think the whole idea of the bdsm world is a odd concept to the vanilla world and why would a registered or tatto on a sub/slave be a problem. Its no differant then a collar or other item or marking youd wear for your Dom/Domme. It shows pride and want of desire to say im proud of who I am and what I enjoy or love in life. Dont judge others for others judge you and we all know there are enough stinken rules around.
I love the idear of a sub/slave being marked and where any one can see it. Sure does make unknown public meetings interesting.

to me it brings to mind the mid-1980's, when many supermarkets in the United States had a number of shelves devoted to "generic" off-brand items, whose packaging mainly consisted of an unadorned plain white background with the type of product (such "PEAS" etc.) written in a plain black sans-serif font, and accompanied by a prominently displayed barcode. |
and this comparison couldn't be appealing to even just a few slaves?

i was under the impression that all relationships are different, even the healthy ones. in fact i would go as far as to say that the above quoted is totally stripping everyone, both Masters and slaves, of any kind of personality and individuality, as well as T/their own choice of how T/their relationship should be like. singularity serving multiplicity

Far be it from me to try to dictate what other people do and don't find appealing. However, I have never really understood why bar codes are the default basic slave-marking on this site, considering that they're not practical as brands, they're only marginally borderline practicable as tattoos (you need to find a good tattooer with a lot of patience, and the end-result will still probably not be scannable with a standard laser scanner). And on top of this, bar codes have associations and connotations which I find unappealing in this context:

I'm all for freedom of choice and people doing what moves them, thats what makes the world a big place but for me the idea of bar code tats give me the willes. It sets off all sorts of Orwellen nightmares for me. In the 70s Mad magazene would have Alfred E. Newman often looking thru the U.P.C. as if they were jail cells. Obie Say what you mean, mean what you say.
