what is the difference SSN NUMBER(which is computrized), our account numbers at the bank are commputerized even the time that I have on this computer as an account number I have an hour time on the computer and the time is represent by the account number and number all represent me and the library that I am sitting in while I am typing out this post and the number is on a label on a box and barcode(representing the numeber) on it - slave are owned property, just the same as everybody who agrees to be owned the different the box don't ahve a bring and the slave does and I don't see any depersonalizaton in THAT!!!, and our SLRN numbers are computerized.... IT IS AN ACT OF TRACKING PEOPLE and not(I say NOT depersonalization)!!!! the people who gets the barcodes tattoes are the ones that are wise for the barcodes and the barcode readers will help lost slave to find their owners and the owners find their slaves - THE ROAD GOES BOTH WAYS!

how about you going a day with tape strips on credits card which holds our personal information on the them? Do believe that the tape strips(another form for ID record/personal sensative information) on a piece of plastic that represent the relationship that you have with with your bank and etc. is that depersonlizaion???

can understand branding or tatoos with a master's mark..but barcodes?

If your Master wants to you wear his mark I don't see why it matters what format that mark takes.

I like the depersonalisation of barcodes.

If you mind, then it matters, if you don't mind, then it don't matter!

I once suggested that people could tattoo their slave registration numbers using the D'ni numeral system (see http://www.omniglot.com/writing/dni.htm , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:D%27ni_numera... , etc.), which includes visually relatively simple number-shapes that would be quite a bit easier to tattoo than bar-codes, and wouldn't have all the associated connotations and conceptual baggage that bar codes drag along with them...

I quite like this, thanks for the link AnonMoos.

I just had the numbers written rather that the actual bar code.

If you do use D'ni numerals, remember to convert to base 25. ;-) (A nine-digit decimal numeral can be expressed with at most seven base-25 numeral symbols.) Also, the vertical lines along the edges of each D'ni number symbol seem to merge when the symbols are put side-by-side into a multiple-digit number...

I added an image on converting TSR numbers to D'ni numeral symbols; to see the full-size image and an explanation, click on the small thumbnail (or go to http://www.seekdiscipline.com/pictures/AnonMoos/... ):

Holy shit! <laughs and sweats the math> Come on! Lemme know if there's anyone not doing the same with the conversion bit.

I KNOW I'm not dumb but do I ever hate this stuff - I was NOT cut out to be a mathematician!

Thanks AM for a good giggle at my own expense. <looks sideways at MT to see how she's doing!>

...I have baggage, in the metaphorical sense, but I can't afford the Max-Fax for the Blepharoplasty.

Even though now, My 'code' is defunct for it's intended purpose, it's fun, in so much as people 'still' (after all this time, would you believe?) stop Me, and ask Me the typical stupid question; 'does it scan?', 'how much are you worth?'..a few times I've had someone ask Me what it was for, and was kinda fed up with the usual spiel, so I told 'em exactly what it meant.

Their jaw dropped, I walked off. Priceless.
