Go to this website before *tonight's midnight deadline* and have your voice heard:

You'll need to enter your name, address, and email; you do not need to enter a phone number.

There can be no doubt the man deserves impeachment. But. Kucinich is one of a sub-committee. The sub -committeee might report to the full committee. That committee could report a bill to the full House. The full House perhaps would prepare a Bill of Impeachment to be sent to the Senate...where everything dies.

All this must transpire during a Presidential election season. AND if B. is impeached, we automatically get Dead Man Walking Cheney as Commander-In-Chief.

Kucinich would have done better to argue the impeachment of Cheney.

It's good to know what everyone thinks though...

Nothing like a good chat on a hot topic over a cuppa :-)

Politics is involved in just about every facet of our lives and is perfectly on-topic for the off-topic board. Why do you object? Seems odd to me to dislike discussion because you disagree. Just go ahead and disagree... present the alternative argument if you want.

This is nicely said btw, but if you don't want to do that and dislike political discussion why did you read the thread? Pass by and leave it to others.

What you can't do is say we shouldn't talk about something because you don't like it or others may disagree with the OP's stated view.

Surely if we start imposing limits and censoring what people can discuss, here of all places, we might as well give up. That sort of thing tends to quickly evolve into the worst sort of censorship and the end of free speech.

I am surprised and a bit saddened to hear it here but perhaps it confirms some discussions I've had elsewhere about the growing level of supression of free speech in some surprising places in the world.

To "discuss politics in a public forum" is the essential definition of free speech. One of the means of suppressing free speech is to argue that the expression of differences is bad manners. Those of us who practive the M/s lifestyle live in the proverbial glass house. Absent free speech, our lifestyles and the passions and thoughts which brought us to this, are subject to the whims of the majority or the dictates of a few.

Disagree if you will. Please. But consider that the discussion of politics only in private or not at all may be indifference, irresponsible citizenship or cowardice.

Historically, we Americans are a rowdy bunch. We agree to disagree and move on. And our public disagreements are public, where they belong. We seem to do badly when we consprire in private or hold ourselves aloof from the public battles of our times. Politics, like war are matters too important to leave to professionals.

I'm agreeing to disagree on the idea of impeaching Bush. *smile*

O/our private sex lives are cool to discuss here in public and who will be elected to public office, that should be kept in private?

If you are part of the 5% who think bush has done a good job, then more power to you.(ugh.) I would rather discuss my views with someone that does not share my view than with someone that does. Life would be rather boring if W/we all felt the same way.

Is it really 5%? Or is that as reported by the media? (just curious)

*smile* I agree - it would be boring if we all felt the same way.

I admit that that number is more a reflection of my experance talking to people and not any survay or network. I would be more inclined to beleve what the B.B.C. has to say that any U.S. media outlet has to say.

I am in mostly a blue collar world and I think that it's generous saying that one in twenty are a fan of the "shrub". I suppose that 5% is just my way of saying that I know that not everybody agrees with me.

Really? Gee, then I guess someone needs to tell Washington D. C. they've been doing it wrong all these years (and they need to tweak that pesky First Amendment).

Not everyone shares your view of “NEVER”, either, but that didn't stop you from putting forth an intolerant viewpoint.

Bush has a 5% approval rating from Democrats, overall he has a 30% approval rating atm; the second lowest in our country's history.

It is incredibly impressive how the Republicans have managed to convince everyone that the media is controlled by the mythical “left”: Kaiser Soze would be so proud (if he existed). If the media is so leftist why wasn't it splashed across the news when Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 articles of impeachment against Bush on June 9th? A Google News search showed only a handful of papers carried the story like the Victorville Daily Press (probably a subversive paper in the desert). In case anyone is interested, here is the list:

http://www.baltimorechronicle.com/2008/061008Var...

And I find it fascinating that the Republicans have such staunch support from the middle class that they are doing nearly everything in their power to eradicate. Actually I find it frightening.
