(17) Moved from D/s News/Events Tue 5 Aug 08, 5:51 PM Ms_Valentine 8 mths HI My sub paul and I are thinking of visiting the US with the intention of trying to coincide the trip to when a large bdsm event is on. The location is not important as we can always travel around before or after to do the 'touristy' thing. The kind of event I am most keen on, would be one which had an emphasis on selling bdsm equipment as I love to buy new toys, and feel the fetish fairs and markets in the UK are not offering much new and interesting stuff nowadays. In a similar vein, which cities boast the best bdsm stores? When we do go though it would be great to visit a munch (or two) as I managed it last time I was in NY a few years ago and met some lovely people. Thanks in advance for any good suggestions... It's really terrific and there are plenty of vendors and lots of kinky folks enjoying themselves. http://folsomstreetfair.org/fair-info.php Lots of touristy things to do there in addition to kinky stuff, a couple of dungeons are open full-time, and there are several leather shops in town, too. It sounds like 942-784-782 can offer you more information than i can! i've been to the Folsom Street Fair a few times, and all though i've never attended Folsom Fringe, i have heard many terrific reviews from close friends. It's a pansexual conference with classes and play parties. http://www.folsomfringe.com/node/3 i have not been to the Citadel since it changed locations, but that is a pansexual play space as well (at least it was!), and of course there is the Power Exchange. David Sir HI Thanks for the recommendation for the FolsomFringe events as well. paul is frantically trying to sort out flights and accommodation so that we can come out and do the Folsom Street Fair and FolsomFringe as well as do a few more normal tourist things in California. We will be attending the FolsomFringe event and booked to stay in the host hotel from Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th Sept. So, if anyone has any experiences of past FolsomFringe/Folsom Street Fair events to share, please feel free to memo me, as I would love to hear them. If anyone else is going and wants to say 'Hi', I will be wearing a name tag with 'Ms Valentine' on and my sub will be 'paulss'. I am very excited about it all!!!!! 8 Aug 08, 12:55 AM 942-784-782 US(CA), 6 mths It's worth noting that you can attend individual Folsom Fringe events without having to sign up for all of it, or stay there for the entire weekend. If you're just interested in the dungeon parties or the classes, you can buy tickets for those events only. It's also worth noting that Folsom Fringe is located quite far away from San Francisco proper, and there is only a bus provided on Sunday. There are trains and etc you can take up to the city, but it's kind of limiting. I'm certainly not trying to put anyone off Folsom Fringe, I think it's a great time. I just have had a couple of friends attend from out of town, and complain after the fact that they felt kind of isolated. However, I can also see how having everything contained to one site might be really attractive if you're coming from out of town.
