I chose a chain over leather or a turian style collar partly as I love chain of any kind but also as it would be much easier to keep it discreet. Men often wear chunky chains around their necks so his does not look odd. The lock is stainless steel and in a modern attractive design, circular with a hole in the middle so it looks decorative. Instead we have purchased a couple of necklaces, one is a leather choker style necklace with leather thonging tassles (looks rather boho rather than kinky), the other is a choker style necklace that has small square glass beads, of many different colours. Alternative: Use instead of a neck collar (two) ankle chains in your socks. At home you can even lock them togeather... But I understand this is not the case for everyone and we offer a sleeve than can be used as a sort of camouflage for the collar. They also come in handy in those colder climates.
